Altran Solutions utilizes its strong capabilities in applied mechanics to provide solutions to difficult problems including product development, failure analysis, code reconciliation, forensics and operability and functionality evaluations. Applied mechanics capabilities include stress analysis, dynamic analysis, thermal hydraulics, water hammer, acoustic vibration, fracture mechanics, and fatigue.
Computational methods are used to achieve accurate and fast solutions to large complex simulations. This enables us to closely simulate non-linear material behavior, sliding and friction, large displacement, large strains, and rupture. Residual stresses can be obtained by careful simulation of the heating delivered to the material and application of the weld paths and the subsequent cooling.
