Bridge Cable Project
Altran engineers used the data acquisition system to record at required data acquisition rate the LVDT and load cell information on the slow strain rate machines. Several load frames were recorded simultaneously. Data was preformatted in a spreadsheet format for ease of use. Automatic file naming and date stamping of data minimizes potential errors during the data manipulation.
pH Montoring and Control
Altran engineers developed a standalone data acquisition system to automate and standardize measurements over a 6 month period. Weekly measurements performed were recorded and placed in a global document for efficient report preparation. The system self calibrated a pH probe minimizing operator error. The user is prompted to perform measurements and suitable adjustments to the pH are made by the computer system by controlling carbon dioxide dosing.
Heat Pump Fire Investigation
Altran engineers used a custom data acquisition system to monitor voltages during full scale testing of a heat pump. The data acquired by the system was useful in identifying key temperatures, voltages and components. The computerized system allowed uninterrupted simulation of use of the heat pump system 24 hours a day, collecting trends and any anomalies.
Life Cycle Testing
Accelerated life testing of equipment by controlling environment and operating through a series of mechanical movement up to 400,000 cycles. Steam pressure, oil temperature were controlled in the simulation.
