Altran Solutions' engineering services include technical expertise in industrial and architectural protective coatings for nuclear applications. These coating are commonly used to prevent corrosion, provide color identification for systems and components, identify and mark safety hazards, and enhance aesthetics. We have specific experience and expertise in industrial coatings applied to steel and concrete surfaces in a wide variety of service environments ranging from typical indoor/outdoor applications to severe chemical exposures. We also are experienced with high performance coating materials for immersion service, such as tank and pipe linings in water and chemical solution exposures.

Coatings for nuclear safety related applications differ from commercial grade coatings in that they are supported by additional quality controls. Manufacturers of coatings for nuclear applications must have a 10CFR50, Appendix B quality assurance program, or else the coating must qualified through the commercial grade dedication process. The personnel performing the application must be trained and qualified, as does the person performing the inspections. All applications must be rigorously inspected and documented.
