Biofouling and Biodeterioration
Altran Solutions' Biodeterioration Laboratory focuses on the effects of biological attack and contamination of industrial and biomedical materials and systems. Altran has the expertise and technology to identify system designs, materials, manufacturing or operations that would be vulnerable to contamination and biological attack and determine and mitigate the effects of associated failures.
Our microbiologists work with our corrosion scientists engineers in a multidisciplinary approach to identify, resolve and prevent industrial material and system failures from microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) and biofouling. We use state of the art equipment to detect, isolate and identify both macrofouling (i.e. barnacles, zebra mussels, termites, etc.) and microfouling organisms (bacteria, fungi, molds, yeast, algae, etc.) when in the field or laboratory.
